Do I need a heavy press for thin petals?

Not necessarily. Thin petals benefit more from uniform pressure and frequent blot swaps than from extreme force. Our maple presses distribute pressure evenly with stainless hardware.

How often should I change blotting paper?

For most species, change blotting paper every 24–48 hours during the first week, then every 2–3 days as moisture decreases. High humidity environments may need more frequent changes.

Are your supplies acid-free?

Yes. Our papers and adhesives are pH neutral or buffered, suitable for long-term display when used as directed.

Can I join workshops without experience?

Absolutely. The Basics workshop assumes no prior knowledge and introduces safe handling, moisture control, and finishing techniques.

Do you guarantee color retention?

We do not guarantee outcomes. Results depend on species, environment, and handling. Our methods and supplies are designed to improve consistency and reduce risks.

What’s included in a starter kit?

A maple press, stainless bolts, lab blotting paper, neutral adhesive, and step-by-step guidelines with safety notes.

How do I store finished pieces?

Keep out of direct sunlight, use UV-aware glass or acrylic, and mount using neutral adhesives on archival substrate. Avoid high humidity rooms.

Do you offer educator discounts?

Yes, verified educators and nonprofits receive volume-based discounts on papers and presses. Contact us to apply.

What tools help in high humidity?

Use desiccants, increase air circulation, and shorten the first blot interval. Our silica-based moisture pack is reusable and easy to monitor.
